Commander: Zaffai and the Tempests

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger deck built around Zaffai and the Tempests, which grants one free instant or sorcery cast each turn. The primary plan is to use that free cast to chain high-cost spells, build a storm count with Prismari, the Inspiration or Thousand-Year Storm, and finish with a massive X spell such as Crackle with Power. Secondary paths include token generation from Young Pyromancer and Prismari Pianist, plus a Niv-Mizzet, Parun draw-ping engine. Prismari, the Inspiration acts as the hidden commander, as the deck is shaped around resolving it as a storm enabler. Without Zaffai, cost reducers and free-cast effects like Improvisation Capstone and Epic Experiment still allow the plan to function, though more slowly.
