Deck overview

This deck executes a relentless mono-black tribal swarm strategy built around 25 copies of Rat Colony and commanded by Marrow-Gnawer. The primary game plan curves out multiple Rat Colony creatures in the opening turns, quickly scaling their power with each additional Rat. Casting Marrow-Gnawer on Turn 5 provides immediate evasion by granting all Rats fear, while threatening to double the swarm each turn cycle. The deck features explosive mono-black ramp engines like Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Three Tree City, enabling rapid deployment and commander recasts. It also contains an infinite combo with Thornbite Staff, which untaps Marrow-Gnawer on every creature death to generate infinite Rat tokens and triggers. While the strategy possesses exceptional offensive consistency and redundancy, it remains inherently vulnerable to sweepers and creature removal due to light protection and reactive interaction.
