Deck overview

This Gruul midrange deck is led by Aerid Konstrari, turning artifact token generation into ramping mana and lethal board scaling. Aerid creates a Heartwood token whenever it enters or dies, generating an escalating mana advantage that accelerates future plays. The deck leverages temporary copy spells such as Twinflame, Molten Duplication, and Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink to clone Aerid. Due to the legend rule, legendary copies enter and immediately die, triggering both an enter and a death trigger to produce two Heartwood tokens per cast. These bursts trigger artifact pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Ingenious Artillerist to burn the table, while token doublers like Doubling Season and Parallel Lives compound the resource disparity. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by overwhelming opponents with massive trample damage from Craterclaw Colossus, repeated activations of Aerid's pump ability, or a wide board swing protected by Heroic Intervention.
