Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain combo-control deck commanded by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. Oloro provides steady, uncounterable life buffer from the command zone starting on Turn 2. The deck leverages this passive life stream to stabilize its life total, fuel life-payment cards, and trigger card advantage engines such as Dawn of Hope and Haliya, Guided by Light. The primary path to victory is assembling an infinite lifegain-drain loop pairing Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest. Backed by a dense suite of flexible Esper interaction—including Swords to Plowshares, Mana Drain, and Toxic Deluge—the deck controls the board until it can assemble its combo. A potent secondary line exists via Bolas's Citadel, Sensei's Divining Top, and Aetherflux Reservoir. While vulnerable to enchantment removal during the turn cycle before its upkeep trigger fires, the deck plays an inevitable, resilient game.
