Deck overview

This deck is a five-color midrange spellslinger build commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex, centering on the custom prepare mechanic and repartee triggers. The primary strategy involves casting creatures that enter prepared, then casting their associated adventure spells to trigger Codie's doubling ability. As spells are doubled, Repartee payoffs like Stirring Hopesinger and Melancholic Poet rapidly grow your board and drain opponent life totals. In the late game, activating Codie's five-color ability reprepares the entire board simultaneously, fueling an explosive turn of doubled spells and wide combat attacks. The deck also includes an infinite drain combination between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Marauding Blight-Priest that ends the game immediately upon any life change. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, its high count of tapped lands and vulnerability to board wipes make careful pacing and mana management essential.
