Deck overview

This deck is a quintessential Rakdos Group Slug strategy piloted by Mogis, God of Slaughter. Rather than attempting complex combo loops or aggressive creature combat, the deck turns basic game actions into painful life taxes. Punishers like Zo-Zu the Punisher, Spellshock, Manabarbs, and Underworld Dreams penalize opponents for playing lands, casting spells, and drawing cards. Mogis, God of Slaughter provides an indestructible, low-maintenance attrition piece that steadily whittles life totals or taxes creature boards. Anti-lifegain cards like Sulfuric Vortex and Roiling Vortex ensure opponents cannot out-heal the incoming burn. The primary endgame revolves around resolving Havoc Festival or stacking multiple damage multipliers like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell to rapidly collapse life totals across the entire table by Turn 8. Because it lacks tutors, countermagic, and dedicated protection spells, the deck relies on raw redundancy and mutual bleeding to achieve victory.
