Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai X-spell ramp and combo strategy commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. Zaxara turns every X-spell into a powerful board-building play by creating scaled Hydra tokens while functioning as a two-mana dork in the command zone. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with mana rocks and dorks, casts Zaxara on Turn 3 or 4, and uses large X-draw spells like Hydroid Krasis and Silver Scrutiny to maintain card flow. The primary win condition is an infinite mana combo using Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura on Zaxara, fueling instant table kills with Walking Ballista, Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, or Finale of Devastation. If the combo is disrupted, the deck pivots naturally into a formidable combat threat with counter multipliers such as Doubling Season and evasion enablers like Herald of Secret Streams and Garruk's Uprising.
