Deck overview

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker commands a mono-black aristocrats and resource denial engine that weaponizes creatures with power 1 or less. By sacrificing these low-power creatures on every player's turn, Shirei returns them to the battlefield at each beginning of the end step. The deck accelerates in the early turns with 2-mana mana rocks and creature dorks, deploying free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Spawning Pit. Once Shirei resolves on Turn 4, the deck initiates an oppressive stax loop using creatures like Burglar Rat and Virus Beetle to strip all opposing hands to zero by Turn 5. Opponents are locked out of options while recurring removal from Bone Shredder and library control from Thoughtpicker Witch lock down the board. The deck converts this resource dominance into a lethal clock with aristocrat drain pieces like Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and Sling-Gang Lieutenant, eliminating the table by Turn 8.
