Deck overview

This deck leverages Doctor Doom, King of Latveria to drive a Grixis Villain typal and discard-value strategy. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap Villain creatures and mana acceleration on early turns, followed by casting the commander on Turn 4 to begin looting and buffing attackers via the connive mechanic. As cards are filtered, land discards convert into unblockable life loss for opponents, while nonland discards pump attackers with +1/+1 counters. Synergies like Archfiend of Ifnir and Bone Miser turn routine filtering into asymmetric board clears and token generation. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through wide, evasive attacks enhanced by menace, flying, and anthem effects like The Squadron Sinister, backed by direct burn from Glint-Horn Buccaneer. A compact backup combo exists with Curiosity on Glint-Horn Buccaneer during the cleanup step.
