Deck overview

This Commander deck is an explosive spellslinger storm build centered on Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. The strategy leverages creatures that enter the battlefield prepared with adventure-style spells. Casting these prepared spell copies triggers powerful Magecraft effects and noncreature cast payoffs like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Guttersnipe, and Vivi Ornitier, while Codie, Ravenous Codex doubles each spell cast. The primary win condition revolves around Displacer Kitten, which blinks prepared creatures like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song or Goblin Glasswright // Craft with Pride whenever their spell is cast. Because the creatures re-enter the battlefield fully prepared, this loop generates infinite mana and storm count in a single turn. The deck then draws its entire library through Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall and eliminates all three opponents simultaneously with Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate or noncombat damage triggers. Premium protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Clever Concealment ensure resilient execution during the winning window.
