Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis combat spellslinger list commanded by Fire Lord Azula. Azula generates {R}{R} whenever she attacks and copies any spell cast while she is attacking. The deck leverages this ability by declaring Azula as an attacker and casting cheap burn, removal, or combat cantrips during combat to duplicate their effects. Secondary threats like Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, Chandra's Emberling, and Ty Lee, Artful Acrobat capitalize on prowess and noncreature cast triggers to grow in power. High-end threats such as Ozai, the Phoenix King and Bogardan Hellkite provide reach and flying aggression. The deck operates fairly on the stack and in combat, seeking to systematically pressure opponents' life totals through combat steps and copied burn rather than infinite loops or sudden combo wins.
