Deck overview

Blech, Loafing Pest leads a Golgari midrange deck focused on lifegain synergy, token swarms, and aristocrat drain. The game plan builds mana in the opening turns before deploying the commander alongside steady token producers like Lluwen, Exchange Student // Pest Friend and Arasta of the Endless Web. As the pilot gains life through Food, sacrifice outlets like Vampiric Rites, and death triggers, Blech, Loafing Pest distributes +1/+1 counters across all friendly Pests, Bats, Insects, and Spiders. Card draw engines such as Skullclamp, Sylvan Library, and Moldervine Reclamation keep the hand full while the board expands. The deck closes games by granting trample via Duskshell Crawler for decisive combat swings, supplemented by inescapable table-wide drain from Mirkwood Bats, Bastion of Remembrance, and Zulaport Cutthroat. While vulnerable to mass sweepers and lacking stack protection, the deck offers steady engine recovery and multiple redundant paths to victory.
