Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord leads a LOTR ring-tempt midrange deck. It is built around Sauron's cast-then-draw engine: ring tempt triggers discard and draw four, while Nazgul and Army tokens grow with every temptation. The primary plan is to chain cheap ring-tempt spells and sagas, play multiple Nazgul, and win with an overwhelming Wraith-Army combat swarm. Secondary paths include stealing creatures with In the Darkness Bind Them and Rangers of Ithilien, reanimating with Sauron, Lord of the Rings, and burning opponents with Fiery Inscription and Mount Doom. Sauron is not a double-faced card; his second design in the 99 is a backup heavy hitter, not an alternate commander strategy.
