I AM WAR! by ShadowingBane

Format: Commander

Commander: Ares, God of War

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos sacrifice/attack value engine helmed by Ares, God of War, who forces attacks and returns dying attackers to hand. The primary game plan revolves around deploying a swarm of creatures, attacking aggressively, sacrificing them for value (cards, treasures, direct damage), and chaining extra combat phases to overwhelm opponents. The deck generates tremendous card advantage through death-triggered draw engines like Garna, Bloodfist of Keld and Grim Haruspex, while Pitiless Plunderer and Mahadi, Emporium Master convert deaths into a torrent of Treasure tokens. The finisher is typically a multi-combat turn fueled by Combat Celebrant, Breath of Fury, or Full Throttle, combined with drain effects from Mayhem Devil and Syr Konrad, the Grim. The commander provides repeated hand-recovery of attackers but is not essential to the engine.
