Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck employs a classic Mardu Aikido and forced combat control strategy. Rather than racing for an early combo, the deck establishes an impenetrable defensive perimeter using pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison, tax pieces like Blind Obedience, and the Monarch mechanic for steady card advantage. The deck turns opponents' aggression against them using reactive damage redirection cards such as Deflecting Palm, Delirium, and Inkshield. When opponents attempt to develop their boards or assemble lethal attacks, cards like Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge, and Maximum Carnage force them to battle each other. A robust Sunforger toolbox provides instant-speed tutoring for targeted removal, board protection, and combat tricks. Once opposing life totals are depleted, the deck finishes the game through massive token crackbacks from Inkshield, damage doubling via Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, or damage reflection with Brash Taunter, reliably closing out the table around Turn 8.
