Commander: The Archimandrite

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Jeskai "hand size matters" deck helmed by The Archimandrite. The primary plan is to draw a massive hand, then convert it into a lethal board: the commander's upkeep life-gain scales with hand size, and every life-gain event pumps the deck's Advisor/Artificer/Monk token makers - Monastery Mentor, Young Pyromancer, Third Path Iconoclast, Murmuring Mystic, Sage of the Skies - with +X/+0 and vigilance. The deck also carries a deep combo suite: Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind with Curiosity or Mind Over Matter for infinite damage, Mind Over Matter with Arcanis the Omnipotent or Azami, Lady of Scrolls to draw the deck, and Thassa's Oracle or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries as the payoff. Alternate wins include Triskaidekaphile, Twenty-Toed Toad, and the mill engines Psychic Corrosion, Sphinx's Tutelage, and Teferi's Tutelage. The deck plays a draw-go control game, burying opponents in card advantage before closing.
