Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Mono-Black Reanimator strategy commanded by Songbird, Sonic Screamer. The commander functions as a guaranteed, zero-mana discard outlet accessible directly from the command zone, allowing the pilot to pitch high-cost monsters from hand as early as Turn 2. The list leverages premier black tutors such as Entomb, Vampiric Tutor, and Buried Alive alongside efficient reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Exhume to cheat game-warping creatures into play on Turn 3. Reanimation targets including Archon of Cruelty, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and Sheoldred, Whispering One establish rapid asymmetric attrition, stripping opponent hands, sacrificing opposing boards, and exiling graveyards. Backed by explosive black mana acceleration like Dark Ritual, Cabal Coffers, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, the deck builds an overwhelming combat presence. While lacking stack interaction and non-creature removal, the deck's extreme redundancy and heavy creature suppression reliably overwhelm standard tables.
