Deck overview

This Esper midrange deck helmed by Raffine, Scheming Seer leverages the connive mechanic to turn every attack into a massive card-advantage engine. The primary plan is to deploy a curve of cheap looters and discard-synergy creatures, attack with Raffine and a growing board, then use the discarded cards to fuel reanimation, token generation, and value plays. The deck wins through combat-either by making a single creature enormous via connive counters, or by swarming the battlefield with tokens from Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Jacked Rabbit, and Cryptcaller Chariot. Living Death and Magister Sphinx serve as powerful finishers, resetting the board or setting an opponent to 10 life. The commander is the engine-without her, the deck loses its primary source of repeatable card selection and creature growth, but the discard theme still functions through other outlets.
