Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Golgari aristocrats and Voltron strategy helmed by Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra warps the rules of the battlefield by turning every other creature into a Food artifact. This interaction allows standard artifact removal spells such as Nature's Claim, Force of Vigor, and Boseiju, Who Endures to serve as hyper-efficient creature removal, while symmetry-breaking sweepers like Creeping Corrosion and Fade from History wipe all opposing boards and grant Ygra massive power boosts. Supported by an efficient suite of 1- and 2-drop ramp spells, Ygra reliably lands on Turn 4. From there, the deck converts board attrition into lethal commander damage and aristocrat life drain via Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Disciple of the Vault. Reactive protection spells shield Ygra from removal, allowing it to close out the game over successive combat rounds.
