Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers on Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible Dragon with haste that generates Treasure tokens whenever it takes noncombat damage. The deck accelerates through early turns with rocks, rituals, and loot spells to cast Smaug on Turn 5. On Turn 6, it targets Smaug with massive self-damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Star of Extinction, and Blasphemous Act, or repeatable damage sources like Pyrohemia. Because Smaug is indestructible, these spells do not kill him; instead, they generate 13 to 20+ Treasures while wiping opposing creatures. This colossal mana burst is immediately converted into game-ending payoffs including Exsanguinate, Comet Storm, Mirkwood Bats drain triggers, and Craterclaw Colossus overruns, closing out games by Turn 7. Secondary threats like Ancient Copper Dragon and Hellkite Tyrant provide robust backup win conditions.
