Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, combining big mana ramp with an extensive suite of scalable X-spells. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient two-mana ramp to land Zaxara on Turn 3, untapping on Turn 4 to begin generating two-for-one Hydra token board presence whenever an X-spell is cast. By Turn 5, counter multipliers like Kalonian Hydra, Branching Evolution, and Unbound Flourishing rapidly inflate creature power into lethal territory. The deck closes games around Turn 7 via overwhelming trampling attacks, unblockable swings via Herald of Secret Streams, or reach spells such as Exsanguinate. Because it omits infinite untap combos like Freed from the Real, it operates as a fair, high-velocity midrange stompy list. Its primary vulnerabilities are creature board wipes and mana friction when forced to hold up reactive interaction during sorcery-speed setup turns.
