Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan toughness-matters combat strategy piloted by Felothar the Steadfast. It turns low-cost, high-toughness defenders into formidable attackers by assigning combat damage equal to toughness while allowing creatures with defender to attack freely. The early turns focus on establishing high-toughness mana creatures like Overgrown Battlement and cantripping walls like Wall of Blossoms. Once Felothar or backup enablers such as Doran, Besieged by Time and Assault Formation enter the battlefield, cheap utility defenders transform into high-powered beaters. The deck breaks parity through asymmetric board wipes like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers, which annihilate traditional high-power boards while leaving your entire defender army intact.
