Deck overview

This Grixis deck is an optimized wheel-burn strategy commanded by Nekusar, the Mindrazer. The plan accelerates into Nekusar or complementary punishers like Underworld Dreams, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Liliana's Caress during the first four turns. On turn 5, the deck transitions into its critical onset by resolving mass draw and discard spells such as Wheel of Fortune, Windfall, and Echo of Eons. These spells burn all three opponents simultaneously while tearing apart opposing hands. A dense suite of low-cost countermagic, including Deflecting Swat, Force of Negation, and Swan Song, protects the engine from spot removal and opposing combo attempts. Stax pieces like Smoke and Meekstone prevent aggressive creature decks from racing Nekusar. Redundant punishers in the 99 ensure the deck functions smoothly even if the commander is removed.
