Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain and reanimator strategy commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The deck uses lifegain and life-payment mechanics to generate card advantage, grow creatures, and recur threats from the graveyard every turn. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana using green ramp spells and sets up recurring engines like Sylvan Library and Black Market Connections. Once established, Betor converts life lost into free creature reanimation while distributing +1/+1 counters. The deck's primary route to victory is assembling an infinite life-drain loop using Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror combined with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. Alternatively, sacrificing Protean Hulk searches out an immediate aristocrats drain loop using Warren Soultrader, Blood Artist, and Gravecrawler. With robust creature recursion and redundant combo pieces, the deck recovers quickly from disruption while maintaining steady pressure.
