Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes an aggressive creature-token strategy centered on Witherbloom, the Balancer. By populating the board early through efficient token producers like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Bitterbloom Bearer, and Chatterfang, Squirrel General, the deck drastically reduces the casting cost of its commander. Once on the battlefield, the commander grants affinity for creatures to all instant and sorcery spells, transforming expensive haymakers—such as Army of the Damned, In Garruk's Wake, and Shamanic Revelation—into hyper-efficient plays costing merely their colored pips. The engine converts sheer board width into massive card advantage with Skullclamp and Rishkar's Expertise, then seals the game cleanly via an infect overrun with Triumph of the Hordes or table-wide life drain through Mirkwood Bats and Warren Soultrader. While highly resilient to spot removal and capable of explosive rebuilds, the plan remains vulnerable to well-timed board wipes before its decisive attack step.
