Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy built around Vivi Ornitier. Vivi acts as both a damage engine and a potent mana battery: casting noncreature spells places +1/+1 counters on Vivi while dealing direct damage to every opponent, and Vivi's activated ability converts that power into a burst of blue and red mana once each turn. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost mana rocks and cantrips to establish Vivi by Turn 3 and immediately begin growing its stats on Turn 4. Into the midgame, the deck leverages Vivi's mana generation to deploy substantial game-ending enchantments such as Thousand-Year Storm, Shark Typhoon, and Rite of the Dragoncaller. These engines flood the board with evasive tokens and multiply spell casts into lethal burn flurries. While vulnerable to early creature removal, the deck packs flexible countermagic and redirection tools to protect its critical turns.
