Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines ability-theft mechanics with an aristocrats control shell. Led by Koh, the Face Stealer, the strategy leverages Necrotic Ooze, Agatha's Soul Cauldron, and Marvin, Murderous Mimic to steal and combine activated abilities from creature cards in graveyards and exile. The early game focuses on deploying mana rocks and establishing continuous draw engines such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Skullclamp, and Black Market Connections. In the midgame, the deck controls creature-heavy boards using Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and targeted edicts while generating large mana pools through Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast. The primary win condition is a three-card combo using Necrotic Ooze or Agatha's Soul Cauldron to exile the library with Phyrexian Devourer's ability and deal lethal damage to all opponents with Walking Ballista. Alternatively, Koh, the Face Stealer can copy Tree of Perdition and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to drain life totals rapidly.
