Commander: Vorel of the Hull Clade

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Vorel of the Hull Clade helms a Simic counters deck that aims to snowball a single counter type into an alternate win condition. The primary plan is to land Vorel early, protect him with Counterspell and Rhystic Study pressure, and double charge, +1/+1, or growth counters with Zimone, Deepglow Skate, and Vorinclex. Secondary paths are giant trampling Hydras and Colossus of Akros, plus one-shot wins from Simic Ascendancy and Darksteel Reactor. Zimone, Paradox Sculptor is effectively a hidden second commander in the 99. Body of Research plus Simic Ascendancy is the fastest deterministic line; otherwise the deck grinds counter doubles until a 20+ counter threshold is crossed.
