Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Rat tribal and aristocrats deck commanded by Wick, the Whorled Mind. It capitalizes on the unique deckbuilding rule of Relentless Rats and Rat Colony to flood the battlefield with interchangeable, self-buffing rodents. Each entering Rat triggers Wick to create and rapidly grow a Snail token. Wick then converts the accumulated counters into direct table-wide burn and massive card draw by sacrificing the Snail for {U}{B}{R}. The deck backs up this burn engine with powerful tribal combat multipliers such as Shared Animosity, Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, and Marrow-Gnawer. In the event of creature sweepers, powerful mass recursion spells including Patriarch's Bidding, Bloodline Bidding, and Living Death instantly rebuild the swarm. Efficient instant-speed interaction and countermagic safeguard your setup as you push through lethal combat damage and burn.
