Deck overview

This Golgari deck harnesses the resilience of Skeleton typal synergies and graveyard recursion, commanded by Grist, Voracious Larva. The strategy focuses on stocking the graveyard through self-mill engines like Ripples of Undeath and Overlord of the Balemurk, then recurring cheap Skeletons such as Reassembling Skeleton and Forsaken Miner to trigger powerful leaves-the-graveyard payoffs. These loops transform Grist into Grist, the Plague Swarm, generating a continuous stream of Insect tokens and steady card advantage. The deck transitions into the late game by overwhelming defenses with buffed, trampling swarms from Skeletal Swarming and Skeleton Crew, or by executing a decisive burst finish using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to fling an enormous Lord of Extinction or Old Stickfingers directly at the table's life totals. While vulnerable to dedicated graveyard exile, the deck possesses remarkable grinding power and recovery.
