Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis midrange engine commanded by Abaddon the Despoiler. The strategy revolves around dealing damage to opponents during your turn to unlock cascade on spells cast from hand. Mana rocks and low-cost enablers set the stage for Abaddon on turn 4, followed by life-loss triggers from cards like Loyal Subordinate and Thermo-Alchemist on turn 5. Once active, casting mid-to-high mana value spells cascades directly into zero-mana suspend spells such as Ancestral Vision, Inevitable Betrayal, and Profane Tutor, or into secondary creatures. The deck transitions into late-game dominance through overwhelming card advantage, large threats like Sauron, Lord of the Rings and Etali, Primal Storm, and mass reanimation via Rise of the Dark Realms. While vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and cascade misses on countermagic, its sheer resource velocity allows it to grind down pods reliably across turns 7 and 8.
