Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Lathril, Blade of the Elves to execute a classic Elf tribal swarm strategy. Early turns prioritize deploying low-cost mana dorks such as Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic alongside ramp artifacts to cast Lathril on Turn 3. On Turn 4, Lathril attacks to exploit her menace evasion, generating 1/1 green Elf Warrior tokens upon dealing combat damage. The deck accumulates a critical mass of Elves by Turn 6, enabling Lathril's tap ability to drain 10 life from every opponent simultaneously while bolstering life totals. Secondary win conditions include overwhelming combat buffs such as Raised by Giants, Colossification, and Pride of the Perfect, as well as graveyard recursion through Rise of the Dark Realms and Abomination of Llanowar. Because the list lacks noncreature tutors and countermagic, it relies on natural card flow and reactive shields like Heroic Intervention to survive board wipes while racing toward a Turn 8 table elimination.
