Deck overview

This is an Esper control/burn hybrid built around Y'shtola, Night. The commander turns every relevant noncreature spell into a two-point burn plus incidental life gain after turn one, and she also draws a card whenever an opponent loses the triggered life per turn threshold. The deck isn't an all-in combo: it's a draw-go shell that aims to stabilize the battlefield, stack irritant triggers on Y'shtola, Night, and close games with incremental damage from Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Bloodchief Ascension. The biggest non-commander wins: Hullbreaker Horror (bounce engine), Bolas's Citadel (top-deck arena) and Emet-Selch of the Third Seat (graveyard-casting recursion).
