Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu aggro deck commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. The game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1 and 2 to cast Kaalia on Turn 3 or 4. Once Kaalia attacks, she bypasses the steep mana costs of the deck's twenty massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons, putting them directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs range from lethal one-shot attackers like Master of Cruelties to asymmetric board stabilizers like Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Balefire Dragon. A suite of reanimation spells ensures that discarded or destroyed creatures can return to play even if Kaalia faces heavy removal. While the deck possesses explosive combat potential and strong single-target elimination speed, its reliance on a 2/2 commander makes haste enablers and targeted protection equipment essential to maintain tempo against interactive tables.
