Deck overview

Braids, Arisen Nightmare is this deck's commander, engine, and hidden-commander answer all at once: no double-faced card or alternate general commands the build. The primary plan is value stax: protect a token or reanimation engine, sacrifice one permanent per end step to drain 2 per opponent and draw three cards. Secondary paths layer discard and edict effects with Ayara, First of Locthwain, The Meathook Massacre, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, closing games through devotion rather than combat. Recursive threats like Bloodghast and Nether Traitor keep sacrifices cheap, while Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, and Dauthi Voidwalker provide card advantage. The commander's role is a repeatable draw-drain engine; if opponents keep sacrificing, it becomes a taxing stax piece.
