Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Spellslinger Storm deck helmed by Codie, Ravenous Codex. It leverages prepare creature spells and spell copying alongside low-cost velocity enablers, cost reducers, and Magecraft triggers. The deck rapidly develops its mana base during the opening three turns using cheap ramp and cost-reducing creatures such as Baral, Chief of Compliance and Stormcatch Mentor. By Turn 4, it establishes a functional card-flow and mana engine through pieces like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, or Codie, Ravenous Codex. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into a lethal storm turn, stringing together rituals, cantrips, and flashback spells like Past in Flames. It wins in a single turn by draining opponents with Magecraft burn from Professor Onyx, Fiery Inscription, and Witherbloom Apprentice, or by casting a game-ending Crackle with Power. The list features robust reactive interaction and high redundancy.
