Deck overview

This Jeskai deck is led by Massimo, the Magician, an aggressive tempo commander that turns combat damage into free spellcasts. The deck pairs low-cost unblockable creatures like Slither Blade, Invisible Stalker, and Gudul Lurker with a dense package of 1-mana instants and sorceries. When Massimo enters or another creature arrives, it exiles a 1-mana spell from the graveyard and grants the creature the ability to cast a free copy of that spell upon dealing combat damage. The deck uses looting and cantrips to fill the graveyard early, then connects with unblockable attackers to repeatedly fire off removal, card draw, or table-wide burn spells like Boltwave. Double strike enablers like Blade Historian and Raphael, the Nightwatcher double these combat damage triggers, rapidly draining all three opponents while keeping your hand full.
