Deck overview

This Boros midrange control deck is built around Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury, combining heavy removal, rummaging, and graveyard recursion to control the board before closing through combat and burn. In the early turns, the deck uses efficient looting spells like Faithless Looting, Thrilling Discovery, and Bitter Reunion to sculpt its hand and rapidly stock the graveyard. Phlage enters on Turn 3 for an early Lightning Helix effect, goes to the graveyard, and escapes on Turn 5 as a permanent 6/6 threat that deals repeated damage and gains life. The deck controls the tempo of the game with versatile sweepers like Blasphemous Act and Tragic Arrogance, layered with asymmetric taxes from Trouble in Pairs and Crawlspace. Powerful secondary beaters like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Bonehoard Dracosaur ensure constant pressure across the table, finishing opponents around Turn 9 with combat buffs and unblockable goad effects from Taunt from the Rampart.
