Deck overview

Alela, Cunning Conqueror leads an interactive Dimir flash-tempo deck designed to operate almost entirely on opponents' turns. The core strategy casts instants and flash spells during each opponent's turn to generate 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue tokens. When these evasive creatures deal combat damage, they trigger goad abilities that force opposing threats to attack each other, depleting enemy life totals while protecting your own. Draw engines like Wavebreak Hippocamp, Bident of Thassa, and Enduring Curiosity keep your hand full of counterspells, removal, and mass bounce like Cyclonic Rift. As opponents weaken from forced combat, the deck pivots into a lethal win condition using Shadow Puppeteers, Faerie lords, or Hullbreaker Horror. Supported by efficient free interaction and defensive phasing, the deck maintains steady control of the game from initial deployment to a decisive finish.
