Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug, the Magnificent is a mono-red Treasure-and-Dragon deck that aims to turn artifact tokens into direct damage. The primary plan is to bank Treasures from Smaug's upkeep, Dragon enters, attack triggers, and token doublers, then either fire a giant Crackle with Power or use Aggravated Assault plus Ancient Copper Dragon to chain extra combats. In each extra combat Smaug's attack trigger deals lethal damage to one opponent. Twinflame Tyrant doubles that burn, and Dragon Tempest/Scourge of Valkas give a non-commander fallback. There and Back Again and Knuckles the Echidna add backup value. The hidden Smaug token from There and Back Again is a sacrifice pay-off that creates 14 Treasures when it dies.
