Toph First Metalbender revised 8-26 by user1809173

Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, the First Metalbender

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Toph, the First Metalbender turns the artifact pile into a working manabase and army: Sol Ring, The One Ring, Liquimetal Coating, and even The Stasis Coffin become lands that earthbend can animate. The real engine is the multiple Toph variants in the 99, especially Toph, the Blind Bandit, who acts as a hidden commander scaling with counters on animated lands. The deck builds through landfall and +1/+1 counters, then wins in one or two combat steps with Craterhoof Behemoth and Bumi, Unleashed. The Legend of Kyoshi's back face is a late-game mana and pump payoff, not the central plan. Commander dependency remains moderate: without Toph, artifact-lands stop, but ordinary land-earthbend and token lines still operate.
