Deck overview

Lyra, Tolarian Archangel commands a mono-blue combat saboteur strategy that converts massive card draw into an overwhelming evasive aerial board. The deck leverages cheap Auras, saboteur artifacts, and group-draw permanents such as Bident of Thassa, Combat Research, and Teferi's Ageless Insight to regularly draw three or more cards each turn. Reaching this threshold triggers Lyra's end-step ability, generating a steady army of 3/3 flying Angel tokens. Concurrently, cards like Toothy, Imaginary Friend, Baxter, Fly in the Ointment, and Iron Man, Armored Avenger grow into massive beaters with +1/+1 counters. Alternate win conditions including Twenty-Toed Toad, Triskaidekaphile, and Laboratory Maniac capitalize on full hands to bypass traditional life totals. While the deck possesses immense card velocity and resilience against attrition, its light interaction suite and reliance on combat leave it vulnerable to fast combo decks and sweeping creature removal.
