Deck overview

This Esper Zombie tribal deck is commanded by Varina, Lich Queen, utilizing aggressive Zombie deployments to generate rapid card velocity, life buffer, and graveyard fuel. The strategy focuses on establishing early creature presence, casting Varina on Turn 3 or 4, and utilizing her combat trigger to dig deep into the library while stocking the graveyard with recursive threats and token fodder. The deck transitions into the midgame by stacking tribal lords like Death Baron and Undead Warchief, giving the swarm evasion through Eternal Skylord or Zombie Master, and punishing opposing blocks and wipes with aristocrat triggers from Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and Diregraf Captain. High-impact payoffs such as The Scarab God, Archfiend of Ifnir, and mass recursion via Zombie Apocalypse allow the deck to control the board and close out the table by Turn 8 through wide combat damage and relentless drain.
