Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and group hug strategy commanded by Sokrates, Athenian Teacher. It utilizes symmetrical and political card draw to keep opponents satisfied while establishing a defensive pillowfort with cards like Ghostly Prison, Windborn Muse, and Silent Arbiter. Sokrates, Athenian Teacher prevents incoming combat damage and converts it into massive card draw for both combatants. The deck breaks parity through engines like Teferi's Ageless Insight, The Council of Four, and Gleaming Splendor. Once the board is stabilized, the deck transitions into alternate win conditions, primarily casting and quickly redrawing Approach of the Second Sun, or leveraging a massive hand size with Twenty-Toed Toad and Laboratory Maniac. A dense suite of free and efficient protection spells ensures that the deck can safely execute its win conditions through opposing interaction.
