Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an aristocrats engine that blends creature sacrifice, card velocity, and deterministic infinite drain combos. Helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck can utilize its commander to repeatedly recur nontoken creatures like Plaguecrafter and Fleshbag Marauder at each end step, grinding down opposing creature boards. However, the primary win condition relies on compact aristocrats lines: sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar and Warren Soultrader combine with Forsaken Miner and drain payoffs like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat to drain the entire table in a single turn. Unconditional black tutors, cheap reanimation spells, and aggressive draw engines like Skullclamp and Dark Prophecy ensure fast assembly and rapid recovery against removal. While the deck boasts high resiliency against destruction and board wipes, it lacks instant-speed stack interaction and remains vulnerable to dedicated graveyard hate and enchantment-based exile effects.
