Commander: Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a ruthlessly efficient Mono-Black Aristocrats combo deck led by Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER (who transforms into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel). The primary strategy revolves around establishing a sacrifice engine and draining the table with *Blood Artist*-style effects. The front face of the commander provides consistent card draw on enter/attack, while the transformed back face provides a massive flying threat and a permanent emblem that turns every creature death into a drain effect. The core win condition is the infinite loop between Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar/Ashnod's Altar combined with any drain payoff (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance). The deck is supported by a robust tutor suite and powerful draw engines like Necropotence and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. Tergrid, God of Fright and Dictate of Erebos / Grave Pact provide oppressive stax locks, while Yawgmoth's Will offers game-ending recursion. This deck does not rely on combat damage; it systematically deprives opponents of resources and bleeds them out through infinite triggers.
