Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan toughness-matters midrange strategy commanded by Betor, Kin to All. The primary game plan deploys high-toughness, low-power creatures—such as Tree of Perdition, Tree of Redemption, and various defender walls—to rapidly scale board toughness. On Turn 4, Betor enters the battlefield and immediately triggers its end-step card draw upon meeting the 10-toughness threshold. As toughness accumulates toward 40, the deck utilizes creature tutors like Tooth and Nail and Chord of Calling to find Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Reaching 40 toughness causes Betor to drain each opponent for half their life on end step, which Bloodletter doubles to 100%, securing an instant table kill on Turn 6. Backup lines pivot cleanly into asymmetric combat damage through Doran, Besieged by Time and Felothar the Steadfast, while one-sided board wipes like Wave of Reckoning and dense protection spells like Clever Concealment ensure the board survives to execute.
