Deck overview

This deck is a casual Dimir control and midrange deck built around Xanathar, Guild Kingpin. It seeks to control the early and mid-game by deploying interactive creatures, targeted removal, and selective bounce spells. The primary plan relies on developing lands naturally to cast Xanathar on Turn 7. Once active on Turn 8, Xanathar isolates one opponent each turn by preventing them from casting spells during your turn while allowing you to cast spells and play lands directly from the top of their library. Supported by mid-sized attackers such as Thoughtrender Lamia and Godhunter Octopus, the deck steadily whittles down opposing life totals through fair combat damage. Because the list runs limited mana acceleration, low card selection, and no infinite combos, it closes games slowly around Turn 14.
