Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Vampire tribal strategy built around Edgar Markov. It leverages Edgar's eminence ability to generate a free 1/1 Vampire token whenever a Vampire spell is cast, creating a wide board presence without expending extra cards. The deck curves low-cost creatures into potent tribal lords such as Stromkirk Captain, Legion Lieutenant, and Markov Baron, backed by scaling counter engines like Cordial Vampire and Drana, Liberator of Malakir. While the deck features dense targeted removal to handle threatening opposing permanents, it wins purely through fair combat damage over multiple turn cycles. Because it lacks stack interaction and mass wipe protection, its primary vulnerability lies in recurring board wipes and fast non-interactive combo decks.
