Deck overview

This Sultai deck is a mutate-focused midrange strategy commanded by Otrimi, the Ever-Playful. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, evasive, or resilient non-Human creatures, such as Ukkima, Stalking Shadow and Cold-Eyed Selkie, and mutating Otrimi, the Ever-Playful onto them to build a powerful hybrid threat. As additional mutate creatures like Auspicious Starrix, Sawtusk Demolisher, and Dirge Bat are added to the stack, each mutate cast triggers all accumulated abilities, yielding removal, permanent ramp, and card draw. Otrimi ensures sustained card flow by returning spent mutate creatures from the graveyard whenever it deals combat damage. While the engine generates substantial value, the strategy relies entirely on sequential combat steps across multiple turn rotations to eliminate three opponents. Its greatest vulnerability is stacking multiple cards onto a single creature with minimal defensive protection against opposing removal.
